Visit to Patos, Paraíba
Our executive director visited the city of Patos, in Paraíba, to attend the Strategic Committee of the SerTão Criança Program, in partnership with LEPES-USP. The meeting was attended by the deputy mayor of Patos, the Municipal Secretary of Education, Adriana Carneiro, the Municipal Coordinator of Early Childhood Education, Juliana, and the LEPES management team. We discussed the program’s progress and identified preschool processes as a priority, as they are essential for literacy at the recommended age, one of the main challenges facing the Patos Municipal Education Network.


Steering Committee in João Lisboa, Maranhão
On June 11, we held the first meeting of the Strategic Committee for the Literacy Policy Management Program (Circuito 360) in João Lisboa, Maranhão, developed by the Ayrton Senna Institute and implemented by the Fefig Institute. The meeting was attended by the Municipal Secretary of Education, the Municipal Program Coordinator, and school principals and instructional coordinators. We analyzed the monthly literacy data for grades 1 through 5 of elementary school and discussed the integration of the National/State Program with the municipality, strengthening efforts to promote literacy among all students.


Strategic Committee in Ituverava, São Paulo
On June 20, in Ituverava, São Paulo, we held the 1st Meeting of the Strategic Committee of the Municipal Networks Program of Parceiros da Educação, our partner in the municipality. In attendance were the Mayor of Ituverava, the Municipal Secretary of Education, the technical team from the Municipal Department of Education, and the coordinator of Parceiros da Educação. In our second year of partnership, we reflected on the achievements made and the challenges to be overcome to improve outcomes in the early years of elementary school.


Visit to the Municipality of Formoso do Araguaia, Tocantins
Our executive superintendent visited Formoso do Araguaia, Tocantins, to monitor the activities of the Literacy Management Program (Circuito 360) in the six partner municipalities. During the Management Committee Meeting, with municipal secretaries of education and technical teams, we discussed literacy indicators for grades 1 through 5 and identified improvements to achieve even better results this year. We were honored by the presence of six indigenous members of the Javaé people, who shared a bit of their culture. In the afternoon, we visited one of the 20 villages on Bananal Island, learning more about the struggles and achievements of the Javaé people during an informal meeting with the chief and community members.
