Launch Event for the Early Childhood Education Improvement Program in GRANFPOLIS
On March 13, the launch event for the Early Childhood Education Improvement Program—which we implemented in partnership with LEPES/USP—was held at the headquarters of the Association of Municipalities of the Greater Florianópolis Region (GRANFPOLIS). In attendance were the Secretary of Basic Education from the Ministry of Education (MEC), via video, representatives from the Santa Catarina State Department of Education, the Union of Municipal Education Directors of Santa Catarina (UNDIME/SC), the Santa Catarina Federation of Municipalities (FECAM), and GRANFPOLIS, as well as three mayors and teams from the education departments of 17 municipalities. It was a moment of strong mobilization by all parties around a commitment to improving the quality of early childhood education.
Holding of the Board of Directors' First Meeting of the Year
On March 26, we welcomed our board members to the institute’s headquarters for our first meeting of the year. On the agenda, we discussed the results for the first quarter of 2024, with a focus on communication and fundraising efforts that led to significant growth in our social media presence (Instagram and LinkedIn), as well as the continuation of our initiatives, particularly our achievements in improving early childhood education, literacy at the recommended age, and providing eyeglasses to students in need.
Visit to the Natura Institute for a governance meeting
Our superintendent attended a governance meeting at the Natura Institute headquarters with representatives from the Partnership for Collaborative Literacy (PARC). The Natura Institute is funding 50% of the implementation of the Literacy Management Program in the municipality of João Lisboa, Maranhão, and we are building a partnership model that enhances the role of municipalities in the joint effort toward literacy, strengthening the coordination between materials, training, and support provided by the state to the municipal literacy policy.
