Steering Committee in João Lisboa (MA)

Our superintendent, Bartholomeu Gomes da Silva, visited João Lisboa (MA) for a key milestone in the implementation of the Literacy Management Program: the Steering Committee meeting. On that occasion, the mayor of the municipality, the Secretary of Education, the Deputy Secretary, and the President of the João Lisboa City Council, along with several school administrators, agreed on a joint commitment to reduce the number of students who are not yet literate as much as possible by the end of this year.

Fefig Institute and BrazilFoundation

The Fefig Institute attended the BrazilFoundation’s 7th São Paulo Gala, held on November 28 at the Rosewood Hotel in São Paulo.

The event brought together supporters who are contributing to efforts to build a more equitable Brazil with greater opportunities. “The gathering was an excellent opportunity to learn about the initiatives and projects that are making a difference in the nonprofit sector,” said Andrea Lopes Figueiredo, Director of Communications and Fundraising at the Fefig Institute.

SerTão Criança Program Steering Committee in Patos (PB)

Luiz Fernando Figueiredo, president of the Fefig Institute, and our superintendent Bartholomeu Silva were in Patos (PB) for the meeting of the SerTão Criança Program Steering Committee.

The meeting was attended by the mayor, the Secretary of Education, the coordinator of the Early Childhood Education Center, department officials, the founder of LEPES, Daniel Santos, and his team.

This was a meeting to review the progress of this program focused on early childhood education. We agreed that 2024 will be the year of implementation, during which we will strengthen the initiatives outlined in this year’s Action Plan and continue to improve the quality of early childhood education in the municipality.

INSIDE THE FEFIG INSTITUTE

We attended a meeting at the headquarters of Liga Solidária, a long-standing nonprofit civil society organization (CSO) with a 100-year history that has been led by women since its founding.

It was a very interesting discussion about early childhood and vocational courses for high school students
