Strategic Planning and the Executive Committee in Ituverava: Our Superintendent
Executive Bartholomeu Silva visited the municipality of Ituverava on September 1 for a Tactical-Operational Planning meeting with the staff of the Municipal Department of Education. The goal was to translate the previously developed Strategic Plan into concrete actions that would guide the school system toward achieving its goals, with an emphasis on age-appropriate literacy, reducing age-grade mismatch, and significantly lowering dropout and attrition rates. Following that, he also participated in the Executive Committee Meeting, which was attended by the Mayor, the Secretary of Education and her team, as well as representatives from the Departments of Health and Social Assistance and the Municipal Education Council. It was a unique opportunity to discuss complex issues and consider concrete, intersectoral solutions.

Steering Committee and visit to schools in the Pernambuco region

Our Superintendent also visited schools in the municipality of Tracunhaém, Pernambuco, to monitor the progress of the Program’s implementation. On that occasion, he also participated in the Management Committee meeting, which was attended by representatives from the three partner municipal education departments: Araçoiaba, Cortês, and Tracunhaém. A strategic moment for discussion and realignment of strategies and practices to promote literacy at the right age!
Steering Committee and visit to schools in the Bahia region:
Our Superintendent also visited schools in the municipality of Caculé, Bahia, to monitor the progress of the Program’s implementation. On that occasion, he also participated in the Steering Committee meeting, which was attended by representatives from four of the five partner municipal education departments: Caculé, Malhada de Pedras, Mortugaba, and Lagoa Real. Unfortunately, we had a car accident involving the team from the Dom Basílio Municipal Department of Education, who were on their way to our Committee meeting. In the accident, we lost two education professionals: Pedagogical Coordinator Daniele Santos Lima and School Secretary Edmilson Alves. Our deepest condolences go out to the families and the Department’s staff, as well as to the entire community of schools in the municipality. We stand together in this difficult time and will strive even harder to honor these professionals who fought for the education of the children of Bahia!
